Happy Thanksgiving from Back to Homemade, here are some free Thanksgiving bingo cards for you to print and use on this grandest of holidays! Thanksgiving bingo became a tradition in our home many years ago and all the kids, young and old, look forward to it every year. For the past few years I’ve thought about making my own cards instead of trying to find something online when we’ve inevitably misplaced our old ones, and this year I finally did it.
This project was a lot of fun, though making them myself without a card generator did get a bit tedious towards the end. Each card is unique and there are 12 (~5×7) playing cards and two additional cards that have all the possible squares on them so you can cut them out if you’d like. I usually put mine in a hat or basket and pull them out to call them. We’ve always used dried black beans for our markers, but you can use whatever works for you. If you laminate your cards you could also use dry erase markers.
Each year for Thanksgiving I buy quite a few small prizes and before we play I lay them out in another room. I try to find something for all ages. Of course, you don’t have to use prizes, you can play just for bragging rights, this is just what I do. Sometimes I have items left over from the year before, or just small things I collected through the year. I leave it a surpise, so they are not allowed to see what is there until they’ve won.
Examples of small prizes I often buy are: coloring books, crayons, candy bars, coffee mugs, nice pens, small flashlights, play-doh, novelty socks, hand or foot warmers, a journal, definitely chocolate, matchbox cars, paintbrushes/crafty stuff, etc…… Once in awhile I throw in a funny item and try to guess who might pick it.
