This easy taco ring recipe is one of my family’s favorite dishes. This is a delicious and fairly simple meal to prepare. I also make separate beef filled pockets without dairy for my kiddos who have allergies. To make it a bit healthier than most versions I often use organic crescent rolls when I can find them, if you have time you can even make your own (recipe link below).
Ingredients
* 1 lb. of ground beef
* 1-2 Tablespoons of your favorite taco seasoning
* 1 8oz. bag of medium cheddar cheese
* about 12 crescent rolls (store bought, or try this homemade recipe)
* Desired sides; lettuce, tomato, sour cream, etc..
* Optional: dipping sauce and side of black beans
Directions
1. Cook Ground beef and add seasoning.
2. Add cheese and stir.
3. Heat oven according to crescent roll directions. Open and take one triangle at a time and lay it around your baking pan (overlapping slightly). I use a pizza stone to cook mine on. Smooth out the dough to leave room for your meat mixture.
4. Place spoon fulls of mixture on the widest area of dough, working your way all around until it is full.
5. Carefully fold each triangle piece over the mixture and press it down towards the center of the ring, adhering it to the rest of the dough.
6. Place in heated oven on lower rack until lightly golden brown and dough is cooked through (at least 20 minutes). Oven temps may vary. When done, remove and serve with prepared sides and enjoy!
