Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Chocolate Covered Strawberries for Valentine’s Day. My husband and kids make these for me a few times a year and they are the best!! You can also use other fruit, raspberries are amazing! The secret to making these irresistible, is all in the chocolate. Use a quality chocolate that melts well. For this recipe, we use Dove chocolate.
Ingredients
Strawberries (I prefer organic, if I can get them)
Chocolate (Dove milk chocolate bars or a large bag of individually wrapped milk chocolates)
White chocolate (optional for decorating, we used Ghirardelli white chocolate chips for this batch)
Directions
1.) Wash strawberries and dry well.
2.) Break up chocolate into a bowl that can stand heat. Using a double boiler approach, put some water in a pot about halfway full. Place bowl on top. When it starts to get warm, begin stirring frequently until completely melted.
3.) Place parchment paper down on a baking pan (if you don’t have paper on hand, you can use a glass pan and pop them off once they are cold). Holding the stem, dip your dry strawberries in the chocolate, and carefully place on pan.
4.) Take white chocolate and melt the same as the milk chocolate. Once bowl begins to warm, stir frequently until smooth and melted.
5.) Using a spoon, drizzle white chocolate over the strawberries. When you’re done put the pan in the refrigerator so they can harden. To speed up the process, you can use the freezer for a few minutes, then put them in the fridge. They will begin to melt if left out for too long.
Enjoy!
